
George William Russell was born on February 15, 1998. George is a British racing driver who currently competes in Formula One for Mercedes. Russell also raced in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship with defending champions Lanan Racing in 2014. George went into the season finale at Snetterton in a four-way title fight with teammate Arjun Maini and the HHC Motorsport duo of Sennan Fielding and Raoul Hyman. Russell won the race, his fifth of the season, after starting from pole position, to win the championship by just three points over Maini.
Russell joined Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s junior driver program in early 2017. Russell was confirmed to take part in both days of the Budapest test on the 1-2 August, which followed the Formula One World Championship and support series races at the same circuit the previous weekend. Russell made his Formula One practice debut in November of the same year, driving in the first practice session for Force India at the Brazilian Grand Prix. It was later revealed that he would also drive for them in the first practice session for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
